About Me

My name is Anna B. Faria and I am an Economics Ph.D. Candidate at George Mason University.  I am a Mercatus Center Ph.D. Fellow and Research Assistant at George Mason University.  I have taught Game Theory and Institutions and International Economics at George Mason University. My interests include Development Economics and Economic History of Brazil as well as Political Economy and Institutional Analysis.

My dissertation “Coffee Culture: Three Essays on the Political Economy and Development of Brazil in the Early Twentieth Century” is a study of the historical determinants of development inequality in Brazil.
